Concentration is the way to go! No doubt. This is a good start. But, there are a lot of issues not covered in this video – and they all relate to balance of system costs. Also, PV cells are now 40% efficient and getting better. The issue is cost per watt. We’ve got to get really low cost, and that includes all system costs, trackers, maintenance, intertie, storage, use when the sun isn’t shining and so forth. I achieve that with my patented system. you did not ay the cost of fresnel cost, secondly it can not be used for house the method he claims, how much water one will need to use for generating high pressure steam to run generator, or he should recycle the water, secondly just with one fresnel lense he can run just one small generator, , …… he needs to workout more
however if the fresnel lense is used in stirling engine , I think the it will work better than what idea he has , presurizing water, and so on…
Concentrated solar …
Concentrated solar farms would be 10-12 cents per kwh because of the construction loan, not the maintenance and operation costs! Actually, after repaying the construction loan, costs would or could drop to a few cents per kwh because these farms are cheap to maintain and operate. As for windstorms/tornadoes, I’m sure they could plan for that, and hopefully spread the farms out a bit so they’re not all in one spot.

30kwh per day, wow that’s a lot.
My average three bedroom house in Melbourne Australia averages 6kwh per day of electricity consumption for one adult and three kids. We have gas heating and gas hot water though.
My roof is 130m2 and AVERAGES 900kwh/day of solar energy per summer day and 400kwh/day during winter. If only I could convert 10% of that to electricity…..or 20% and I could run an electric car and get heating too.

If it’s so easy to store why doesn’t the USA have a repository for it’s 50,000 tonnes of waste rods? And don’t dare say “Greenies” or “mis-information” And how much money does it cost to guard a nuclear waste facility for 10,000 years minimum? A lot more than the revenue the fuel ever produced. And lets not forget there more energy remaining in the earths crust in oil than in uranium! (that’s without reprocessing into plutonium, a nice job that one!)
Some of the math …
Some of the math here is pretty sketchy. He claims that a 2.7 meter fresnel lens can collect 1.6 kilowatts? thats more than half of the suns output for that area. When you subtract cloud cover and the earths atmosphere, that figure becomes pretty hard to believe. But still, solar thermal has the advantage of being able to store energy for several hours at a time, so as to provide power at night. Plus, they can be built cheaply but they convert relatively little sunlight to energy.
